Two Days in London | Cup of Kee

Two Days in London | Cup of Kee

Last week, my boyfriend and I went to London to see one of our favourite bands, Bleachers, at the O2 Brixton Academy. I decided we ought to make a little trip out of it, so we stayed overnight and spent the next day out and about in London. Here’s what we got up to…

Firstly, the Bleachers show. This was my fourth and my boyfriend’s third Bleachers show, and both of our first times at the Brixton Academy.
If you haven’t seen Bleachers live, I implore you to add them to your list - they are truly the most incredible band you could see live; the atmosphere is just unmatched! Every show we have been to has just been so much fun; I’m already crossing my fingers for more shows next year.
We’ve had quite the little tour of venues seeing Bleachers too - the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the O2 Forum Kentish Town, I saw them at Finsbury Park, and then the O2 Brixton Academy. The Brixton Academy is a really beautiful venue, even if the sloped floor is a little weird.

After the show, we rested up for a day out on Wednesday starting with the V&A’s Taylor Swift Songbook Trail - something I’ve wanted to go to for weeks now!
We chose a weekday so it wouldn’t be as busy, although the Summer holidays meant there were still some small crowds of people, but we didn’t have to do much waiting around or queueing at any of the exhibits - thank god, because it was hot outside and inside.
I’ve been a Taylor Swift fan since her first album came out, so getting to see all the outfits and costumes in person after all these years was such an incredible (and a little bit emotional) experience, I’m really glad we managed to catch this exhibit before it closes next week. It was also a nice way to fill the Eras Tour-shaped void in my life that’s been there since June.
The whole Trail took less than an hour to get round, and although I didn’t buy anything (because my bank account is still recovering from the Eras Tour) there was plenty of merch available in the gift shop.

After the V&A, we headed across the road to the Natural History Museum as they’ve recently added a little garden area with a dinosaur skeleton outside. We had a little walk around, snapped a couple of photos of the dino, and headed off to a nearby Creperie for lunch. I opted for the ‘Monkey’, which was a lovely Belgian milk chocolate and banana crepe, and Toby chose the ‘Banana Split’ which was similar but with whipped cream. It was so good to sit down and enjoy some lunch after lots of walking, but then we were walking again, heading to Oxford Street.
I don’t often go to Oxford Street because it is SO busy, but I couldn’t resist a visit to the Poetry Pharmacy upstairs in Lush. I had a browse of the books and used all the self-control I had to not buy any of them, but I absolutely bought a couple of the Poetry Pharmacy prescriptions - one called ‘Grounded’ and the other called ‘Plath Distilled’. You can actually buy these on the Poetry Pharmacy’s website if you can’t make it to London! So go and check that out.

From there, a Pop Mart caught my eye. I usually go to the Pop Mart stall in Westfield Shopping Centre to get my Snoopy Blind Boxes, so I just had to grab one whilst we were in an actual Pop Mart store. I opened him up when I got home, but you’ll have to watch the TikTok unboxing to see which one joined my collection…

We also paid a visit to Selfridges, curious about the JellyCat Fish & Chip Shop. The queue inside was pretty long, the Chip Shop was very busy, and they’d run out of the ‘Mushy Peas’, so we passed on the opportunity to buy the set. We did however grab a ‘Charlie Chip’ and a little Bartholomew Bear keychain. If you have the money and don’t mind how busy it is, the Fish & Chip Shop does seem fun!

After lots of walking in 28° heat, we figured it was time to get some dinner before our drive home. We met up with my friend Saskia who had been in London that day visiting her friend, and we all got dinner together at the Hard Rock Cafe in Piccadilly which is always a great time.

All in all, it was a really fun two days in London. I only realised when we got home that there’s a Snoopy Stationery Shop Pop Up not far from where we’d been - so I’ll be making another trip to London in the next month or so to check that out!

Take a look at my Instagram & TikTok for more photos and videos of our trip.

Stay Cosy,
Kee
